This class will include a brief review of the initial subject matter and move to new topics such as harmonization techniques for the ANS by working with reflexive zones of sphincters and valves, connections between Reflexotherapy and meridians, Reflexotherapy combinations for clients with knee problems, working with reflexive zones of the ileocecal valve in situations of emotional stress and additional holds to reduce tension in the shoulder girdle and pelvic region. Prerequisites: Introductory Reflexology and Hanne Marquardt’s Reflexotherapy of the Feet (offered last year).
Metamorphosis is a gentle type of Reflexology done on feet, hands and head and focusing on the spinal reflexes. The spine holds our primary patterns that were formed in the prenatal time. Through bringing prenatal imprints into focus the practitioner can assist the client in releasing blocks that are present in their life. In this way people can release the past and come into their full self expression. The work is powerful in that it addresses the root of our problems and assists us in becoming free of limitations connecting us to our true selves. Prerequisites: Introductory Reflexology and 20 documented practice hours that have been reviewed by SRMC.
Have you ever wondered why a bunion suddenly appears? Maybe it isn’t just because of shoes; it might be an indication of a genetic weakness in one’s family for blood sugar imbalances. The body has its own language—we need only to learn how it communicates with us. In Teri Hoskins’ dynamic seminar, you will learn a new way to hear what the body might be telling you and how you are connected to the quantum world. Teri will explain in a simple-to-understand format how meridians affect each of us personally and how to assess energy imbalances. Your sessions will be much more powerful when you know upon which reflexes and meridians add focus! Prerequisites: Introductory Reflexology

Many of your clients have digestion imbalances. In India they say: "If your stomach is well, you will never get ill". Since 70-80% of our immune cells are in the intestines, being able to successfully work with and counsel clients to achieve improved digestion is necessary to successfully treat ailments elsewhere in the body. In this class, internationally known Danish reflexology experts Dorthe Krogsgaard and Peter Lund Frandsen will delve into this years’ “Round About” topic both from conventional approaches and new angles based on recent research. You will acquire new techniques for immediate symptomatic treatment and learn theories and methods to deal with the deeper layers of causal connections. We will have a strong focus on practical hands-on work in class using classical reflexology, nerve reflexology, special reflex points and relaxation techniques to address the issues at hand. Visit Dorthe Krogsgaard's and Peter Lund Frandsen's website for more information. Prerequisite: Introductory Reflexology

Bodywork from Thailand is taking North America by storm! The latest to reach our shores is Thai foot reflexology, a marriage of the ancient healing arts of reflexology, Chinese tuina, Japanese shiatsu and Indian ayurvedic yoga. Thai foot reflexology is easy and fun to learn. Working with the feet, lower leg and knees, this approach frees up blocked energy within the body’s many sen lines (Thai-based meridians) to produce a deep and unique feeling of balance, relaxation and well-being. Class will cover history and philosophy, safe use of your hands and a traditional Thai foot stick, and incorporation of hydrotherapy and efficacious lubricants during a session. You will leave with the knowledge of a full one-hour Thai foot reflexology session.
